Are you a coach, therapist or other healing professional wanting to be more effective, reach more people and have a bigger impact?

Business is a spiritual practice.
Answering The Call to fulfill your purpose
IS
The Hero’s Way.

Our Journey Together

Using powerful practical tools both ancient and modern for immediate relief from painful emotions, the work we do in this course is grounded in a larger context of nature-based spirituality to anchor the shifts long-term: healing mentally, emotionally, energetically, and physically. Expanding in abundance in all areas of life — health, money, success and love —is woven throughout our work together.

The Hero’s Way does NOT give you more marketing strategies.  What it DOES give you is a ROADMAP to the territory of developing your practice in the spiritual realm.  Fully embodying your largest SELF is the KEY to growing your practice, making more money and having a greater impact on the world.

Archetypes are potent universal symbols that we can call on for inspiration and guidance. When we embody them, we access their powers. In this course, we learn how to grow our impact in the world from embodying the archetypes of the Visionary, Healer, Teacher and Leader and the powers of nature in alignment with the lessons of each season.

Enjoy Your Fully-Expressed Life

In this course, we travel The Hero’s Way with the mentors of the Healer, the Teacher, the Visionary and the Leader. When we become fully present and passionately engaged in our own life’s journey, we begin to live peacefully and joyfully in the eternal mystery, trusting that all is well.

  • Become grounded, wise and stable
  • Harness the power of your mind

Ultimate Outcomes:

  • Get clear and take the next right action
  • Have more passion and “juice” in your life
  • Make more money and be healthier

In The Hero’s Way, Lucinda is bringing us vital material at a time when this medicine is most needed.  This powerful course expanded me beyond my inner limitations.

Lucinda in a small village in Peru 2015

I’ve always been fascinated with other cultures and wanted to learn from them.  In college at UC Santa Cruz, I majored in Cultural Anthropology.  But anthropologists study these cultures from a distance and I didn’t want to just study kinship terms in Fiji, I wanted to LIVE their way of life… to learn from them and apply in my own life what has always resonated with me as a more basic wisdom and spirituality than much of what we have in our mainstream culture.

When I moved to San Francisco for grad school I met Angeles Arrien, a Basque storyteller and cultural anthropologist who had distilled the wisdom of indigenous peoples world-wide into a year-long training called The Four-Fold Way.  I had the great honor and privilege of studying with Angie in person for 16 years.  I attribute a great deal of my personal happiness and the success of my work to having practiced The Four-Fold Way now since the early 1990s.

Why I created this course

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with other cultures.  The first time I saw a world map when I was 4 years old, I wanted to go to EVERY country on it.  (A life goal which I have modified as an adult by the way, although I have been to 45 countries so far and lived in Europe for two years and Asia for one.)

Although my maternal great-grandmother was full-blooded Cherokee, I was raised by a fanatically religious Southern Baptist mother.  As a child, I always felt spiritual but all the hellfire and damnation never felt right.  When the missionaries visited our church showing their home movies of exotic places like Africa and New Guinea, my secret plan was to become a missionary in order to get to places like these, but rather than trying to make them be Southern Baptists,  I was going to convert to their religion.

In college at UC Santa Cruz, I discovered Cultural Anthropology and a new way to get to these places.  But anthropologists study these cultures from a distance and I didn’t want to just study kinship terms in Fiji, I wanted to LIVE their way of life… to learn from them what has always resonated with me as a more basic wisdom and spirituality than much of what we have in our mainstream culture. I knew in my bones that I would learn more from native peoples about how to fulfill my purpose than I would learn in a classroom.

When I moved to San Francisco for grad school I met Angeles Arrien, a Basque storyteller and cultural anthropologist who had distilled the wisdom of indigenous peoples world-wide into a year-long training called the Four-Fold Way.  Finally, I had found what I was looking for!   I had the great honor and privilege of studying with Angie in person for 16 years.  I attribute a great deal of my personal happiness and the success of my work to having practiced the Four-Fold Way now since the early 1990s.

Angeles died unexpectedly in 2014.  I had always planned to take another year-long training from her. There’s a saying that “You teach what you want to learn.” I feel called to honor her spirit by teaching my own unique version of some of what I have learned from her, combined with other things that I have studied deeply, like Focusing.  The Hero’s Way through the Seasons is the culmination of my life’s work and the next right step on my own hero’s journey.    I dedicate this course to my dear teacher, Angeles Arrien. I feel her blessing and guidance every day .

“We can’t heal in the fast lane.  We heal at the pace of mother earth.”

– Angeles Arrien

Angeles Arrien, Ph.D (1940-2014)  was a cultural anthropologist, educator, award-winning author, and corporate consultant to numerous organizations and businesses inside and outside the medical field.  Her work reveals how indigenous wisdom is relevant in our families, professional lives, and our relationship with the Earth.

The Four-Fold Way:

  • Show up and be present
  • Pay attention to what has heart and meaning
  • Tell the truth without blame or judgement
  • Let go of the outcome

There’s much more to The Four-Fold Way but this is the essence. Each of these principles corresponds to an archetype, a direction, an element and a season, as well as many other aspects, that we delve into in  The Hero’s Way: Journey through the Seasons year-long training.

The Hero’s Way is rich and deep. Lucinda guides us skillfully through territory that can be daunting — the journey to growing our business practice in the healing arts from a spiritual perspective —  and lights the way along the path for us. She invites us to believe in ourselves as the hero of our own life story, our own mythic journey . We explore with others in the course, who become our allies on this adventure, the inner and outer aspects of our calling and purpose. Lucinda has an amazing ability to bring out the best in each of us.

If you’re an introvert like me, rest assured that Lucinda is a maker of safe, joyous space.  She is creating authentic community around The Hero’s Way that feels alive and supportive no matter that it’s online and at a distance.  I am grateful to be part of this growing fellowship that is helping me find the courage to honor my gifts and share them.
